You'll Shoot Your Eye Out!

WATERFORD (WWJ) - Waterford Police Officers responded to the Rivers Edge apartments Thursday evening on a felonious assault being reported by a mother whose son was shot with a BB gun.

Officers said three juvenile males, ages 11, 12 and 13, were playing in the woods next to the complex. A fourth juvenile was in the same area with a BB gun.

The juvenile victim told officers that the suspect shot at him with the BB gun, hitting him in the leg and mouth area. The victim did not have serious injuries but sustained a chipped tooth.

The suspect, age 12, was located and interviewed with his mother. The suspect told officers that they were all playing in the woods, that the victim also had a BB gun and he was shooting at one of the other juveniles. The victim's BB gun was taken from him by the other juveniles and that is when he was shot and injured by one of the other juveniles.

No arrests were made. Both BB guns were confiscated and logged into evidence at the police department.
