Man Shoots Ex-Wife, Dies After Police Chase

HUDSON (AP) - A man who authorities say shot his ex-wife before leading police on a chase in southern Michigan has died of at least one gunshot wound.

The Daily Telegram of Adrian and The Blade of Toledo report that 37-year-old Scottie Clark of Hillsdale County's Wheatland Township died Monday evening after being shot outside his home.

Six law enforcement officers were placed on administrative leave.

The shooting occurred after Clark's ex-wife was shot at her home in Hudson, located north of the Ohio state line.

Hillsdale County Sheriff Stan Burchardt says authorities were investigating whether Clark died of a self-inflicted wound.

The officers include two deputies from Hillsdale County, two from Lenawee County, one Hudson officer and one from Michigan State Police.

Burchardt says it's not known how many shots officers fired.
