5-City Open House Hopes To Lure New Residents
FERNDALE (WWJ) - A coalition consisting of several suburban Detroit communities is hosting a five-city Community Open House.
In an age of budget cutbacks, you might call it a sign of the times. Five communities -- all joining together -- to showcase the area's neighborhoods and communities, hoping to lure new residents.
Participating cities are Berkley, Ferndale, Huntington Woods, Pleasant Ridge and Royal Oak, along with the Ferndale and Berkley public school districts. They'll be showcasing city services, libraries, parks and recreation facilities, and their public schools. Real estate professionals will also be on hand, showcasing homes available for purchase.
Organizers say working together is the best way to promote the region and ensure everyone's success.
The central location to meet with City representatives for each community is as follows:
City of Ferndale, Library, 222 E. Nine Mile
City of Pleasant Ridge, Community Center, 4 Ridge Road
City of Huntington Woods, Parks & Recreation Community Center, 26325 Scotia
