Discover How Budgeting Can Improve Your Financial Health

DETROIT (WWJ) - If your household budget is drowning in red ink, WWJ Newsradio 950 and Fox 2's Business Editor Murray Feldman says help is just a few clicks away at noon Thursday.

It's the weekly financial webinar, and the topic is "Developing Discipline Muscles: How Budgeting Can Improve Your Financial Health."

"We'll be talking about how you can get control. It's more than just sitting down and working out a budget. You have to live through the budget. We'll explain how to do that and you'll see how you can put your finances together in just a month," Feldman said.

In this indulgent society, many of us live above our means and don't even realize it. Developing a reasonable budget and the discipline muscles to live by it can ensure we live within our means, eliminate many financial worries, and make immediate improvements to our financial health.

"Many people find themselves way behind on their bills. They've had a job loss, they have college savings to think about, add in everyday expenses and there's no way to catch up, according to them. But, Betsy McCue from Huntington Bank has a plan that's worked for her clients, and she says it could work for other people too," Feldman said.

McCue will be revealing her financial plan during the webinar, with valuable tips on how to organize your finances, no matter how difficult that may seem.

"Putting your financial house in order has a lot of components. You have to know how much you spend, how much you can spend, but you also have to spend smarter. We'll go through ways to decrease spending, and by doing that we'll find ways to save money," Feldman said.
