Five Metro PetSmart Locations Host Weekend Adoption Events

DETROIT (WWJ) - The Michigan Humane Society (MHS), the state's oldest and largest animal welfare organization, will hold adoption events this weekend at its five PetSmart off-site adoption partner locations.

The adoption events, featuring dogs, cats, puppies, kittens and rabbits, are part of PetSmart's nationwide weekend adoption event that aims to get thousands of homeless pets into loving homes.

"If you are looking for a furry friend, this is a great opportunity to meet a new member of the family," Michael Robbins, vice president of marketing and communications for MHS said in a release. "Our off-site adoption program is a critical component of MHS' goal of guaranteed placement for every adoptable animal that comes through our doors. These events save lives, and we're happy to partner with PetSmart in this nationwide effort to give more animals a second chance at a loving home."

The five PetSmart locations hosting MHS adoptable animals are:

  • Fri., April 29: Roseville PetSmart, 20530 E. 13 Mile Rd., 11 am - 2 pm
  • Fri., April 29: Rochester Hills PetSmart, 2724 S. Adams Rd., 4 pm - 7 pm

  • Sat., April 30: Chesterfield PetSmart, 51347 Gratiot Ave., 11 am - 3 pm
