DETROIT (WWJ) – U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood is making a “major announcement” on high-speed rail on Monday here in Detroit and in New York.
That’s according to a statement released Friday by his office. LaHood is expected to be joined by top city officials at Detroit’s Amtrak station Monday afternoon.
LaHood is also to make an appearance earlier in the day at New York’s Penn Station.
In September of 2010 WWJ reported that high speed rail could mean a boost in the local economy .
