CareTech Solutions Unveils iDoc Savings Calculator

Troy-based CareTech Solutions, an information technology and Web products and services provider for more than 180 U.S. hospitals, Wednesday unveiled its iDoc Savings Calculator, at the Michigan Health Information Management Association's annual meeting.

Located on the company's Web site, the online tool will estimate annual savings for an organization after it implements the company's document imaging and management system.

"CareTech Solutions' iDoc Savings Calculator helps hospitals isolate costs associated with paper-intensive departments and provides an estimate for the annual savings they could generate if they implement iDoc," said Leslie Mack, senior director of document imaging and management at CareTech Solutions. "The rule of 20s says you spend $20 in labor to file a paper document, $120 to find a misfiled document, and $220 to reproduce a lost document. Add to that the cost of paper, toner, folders, labels, copiers, storage space, etc. and you are spending more than you think. The iDoc Savings Calculator will show you how the savings more than offset the cost of iDoc in the first year."
