Teen Killed During House Party

WEST BLOOMFIELD (WWJ) - West Bloomfield Police are investigating a stabbing that took the life of a teenager.

The victim is just 17 years old, and at a time when he and his family should be planning for his future, instead they're making funeral arrangements. A second teen is in custody, while police investigate exactly what happened at a house party in the 7300 block of Rafford Lane Saturday evening to cause events to spiral out of control.

West Bloomfield Police dispatcher Chris Hartman tells WWJ Newsradio 950 they received a call from Emergency Room personnel at Henry Ford Hospital telling them the victim had just been brought in.

"The victim, a 17-year-old West Bloomfield resident, later died from a single wound he received," Hartman said. "The victim had been brought to the hospital by a friend. Officers responded to a residence in the 7300 block of Rafford where the stabbing allegedly occurred. At the residence, a male suspect was taken into custody."

Neither the suspect's nor the victim's identities have been released.
