It's "Lemonade Day" Around Metro Detroit

DETROIT (WWJ) - You may see a lot of lemonade day stands popping up all across metro Detroit Sunday.  It's part of "Lemonade Day," an effort to teach kids how to be entrepreneurs and run their own business.

Mike Feezy is President of Huntington National Bank's Eastern Michigan region, one of the sponsors of the event.

"It's an opportunity for kids to really learn some financial discipline, to understand what it means to build a business, to be an entrepeneur and why not take the concept we all understand , which is a lemonade stand, and turn it into a wonderful learning experience," said Feezy.

"One of the best parts of this whole campaign, is we will be asking the kids, which they do all over this county, to spend a little on themselves, to save a little and also share a little, and so we're asking them to donate to their favorite charity," Feezy said.

Feezy says the goal is to have 15 thousand young entrepreneurs, from Pre-K through 12th grade, take part in Lemonade Day.
