Missing 13-Year-Old Boy May Have Taken Family Car

CLARE COUNTY (WWJ/AP) - Police believe a 13-year-old mid-Michigan boy missing for several days may have left home in his family's vehicle.

The Clare County sheriff's office says a missing or stolen vehicle was reported Wednesday morning in Winterfield Township.

The vehicle owner's son, Jerry Don Hayes Jr., also was missing.

Police believe Jerry drove to Evart and picked up a 14-year-old female friend.

WWJ spoke with Clare County sheriff's office and obtained a description of the missing vehicle - a 2000,  black Chevy Silverado pick-up truck, license plate 4JUL 66.

The Morning Sun of Mount Pleasant reports there's been no cell phone activity from either of the teens, and law enforcement is actively looking for them.
