New Software From RTT
RTT USA Inc., the Royal Oak office of the German illustration and design software developer RealTime Technologies, Monday announced new software.
Version 10.0 of RTT DeltaGen provides a number of improvements that optimize and accelerate the entire product life cycle considerably, from design and development right through to marketing and sales. During development of the latest version, the company's visualization experts focused in particular on intelligent and even more efficient handling of data.
And Version 6.0 of RTT PictureBook provides support for interdepartmental and global coordination, enabling live experiences with 3D models.
Improvements in DeltaGen 10.0 include:
* Implementing the new "NURBS-on-Demand" technology has resulted in a significant performance improvement.
* A direct JT export function enables smooth connection to PLM/PDM systems such as Siemens Teamcenter.
* RTT RealTrace is now available on a CPU or GPU format and ensures targeted load distribution when rendering.
* Design review users really get their money's worth in optimized Image Based Lighting, support for measured materials, a new shadow option and more rapid Global Illumination with new, interactive automation.
The innovations introduced in RTT DeltaGen 10.0 cover the entire visualization workflow. This applies in particular to virtual prototyping, with computer-generated output forming the basis for the entire product development process and for the timely planning of sales and marketing activities. The most suitable material for each channel of communication can be generated at any time from the 3D model pool, thus opening up new paths in terms of product marketing.
3D high-end visualization solutions don't just provide immense performance gains in this regard, but also increase synergy effects between already existing VR processes in businesses. RTT DeltaGen 10.0 focuses in particular on process-relevant areas and provides new functionality that enables the various processes to be better linked to each other, thereby improving speed to market. Intelligent data handling allows more rapid and efficient development, and the highest level of visual quality facilitates impressive designs reviews and presentations for rapid decision-making. Due to considerably quicker rendering times and new functions, designers can fully exploit their creative potential when drafting designs. Comprehensive functionality ensures maximum use of the available resources. Furthermore, complete flexibility allows work to be carried out anywhere with full hardware utilization.
As for PictureBook, the completely reworked software tool permits the web-based creation of marketing images and opens new doors in terms of creative collaboration -- both internally and when working with external partners such as design agencies. RTT InstantMeeting, a new add-on module, provides more efficiently structured decision-making cycles. During the course of an overall product life cycle, large amounts of visual data accumulate: from initial brainstorming outputs, sketches and the first product drafts through to computer generated marketing materials. A wide variety of assets must be clearly filed and made available to everyone throughout the process, as quickly and as simply as possible.
RTT PictureBook 6.0 makes this possible and now offers even more functionality, including:
RTT Composer – more creative freedom for virtual browser-based shootings
The RTT Composer add-on module facilitates the creation of high-quality marketing images via a secure web browser connection. In this context, the range of variants and the interactivity of the 3D realtime models are used independently of time, location and hardware for angle hunting and the creation of images. The central "power station", RTT PowerHouse, provides the required realtime rendering power. In order to provide the greatest possible creative freedom, various backplates and surroundings can also be quickly and easily loaded into RTT Composer using drag & drop.
RTT InstantMeeting – more productivity with flexible web conferencing
This new software module allows virtual meetings to be held using web browsers. Live presentations can be carried out securely in 2D and 2.5D from a local server. The individual team members can then provide feedback via chat or in the form of sketches and comments entered directly in the assets. This considerably simplifies coordination processes in global environments – and provides the basis for quick, sound decisions and maximum productivity.
Also, comprehensive status reports are immediately available for all assets: file names, metadata, tags, thumbnails, sketches and comments are clearly listed and can be output in standard file formats (PDF, Excel, CSV and HTML). All participants can thus retain a comprehensive overview, even if they do not have access to RTT PictureBook. Data security is ensured at all times. A simple and effortless updating of the assets (metadata, comments, sketches, assessments etc.) is carried out by automatically transferring the latest version, with the old files being retained as backups.
