Pilot Injured When Home-built Helicopter Crashes

NAPOLEON TWP. (AP) - The pilot of a small, home-built helicopter has suffered minor injuries following a crash in Jackson County.
Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Tony Molinaro says damage to the helicopter is "substantial" from Friday morning's crash in Napoleon Township.

Molinaro says the Rhino 2 model craft is owned by a Jackson County resident. It was not immediately known whether the owner was piloting it when it crashed.

Napoleon Township is about 60 miles west of Detroit.
