Pilot Killed In Single-Engine Plane Crash
DETROIT (WWJ) - A plane crash into an industrial park in Michigan's northern Lower Peninsula has claimed the life of the pilot of the single-engine plane.
Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Tony Molinaro says the Taylor Craft plane was destroyed in this morning's crash south of the Boyne City Airport, about 220 miles northwest of Detroit.
"We had an accident, a small engine plane called a Taylor Craft, sort of a 1940's era small plane that crashed in an industrial park at Boyne City, up in Northern Michigan," said Molinaro.
The pilot's name is not being immediately released. The plane is registered to an owner in East Jordan, near Boyne City. The crash is under investigation by the National Transportation Safety Board.
