Big Borders Sale To Begin Friday
ANN ARBOR (WWJ) - A judge has officially approved Borders plans to liquidate, setting the stage for going-out-of-business sales to start Friday.
Sales will begin Friday at all of the Ann Arbor-based company's 399 remaining stores, including the flagship store in downtown Ann Arbor. It was unclear how long the sale would last, but a spokesperson said he expects it will be of short duration. Sales will start as high as 40-percent off. All sales will be final.
Borders on Monday announced plans to liquidate after a deal to sell the company to a Phoenix-based private equity firm collapsed. The liquidation is expected to be complete by September.
