Jalen Rose Due To Begin Serving Jail Time
DETROIT (WWJ) - Former Michigan Fab Five Star Jalen Rose knows something about being "guarded" on the basketball court. But, Rose will have a different kind of guard when he reports to jail Tuesday.
Jalen Rose will have to spend the next 20 days in jail for a March drunk driving crash in Bloomfield Hills. Judge Kimberly Small -- who has a reputation for coming down hard on even first time drunk drivers -- sentenced Rose to Jail, despite pleas for leniency from a number of prominent community leaders, including Detroit Mayor Dave Bing.
Rose played for six teams during his 13-year NBA career following his years as a member of Michigan's Fab Five. He now works as an ESPN analyst and will open a school in the city this fall, called the Jalen Rose Academy.
