Fire In Ypsi Twp. Claims The Life Of 1 Person
YPSILANTI TWP. (WWJ) - A house fire in Ypsilanti Township claims the life of one person.
Fire Marshall Victor Chevrette tells WWJ by the time they got to the house fire on Margarita Street near Grove and Harris early this morning, the home was almost completely engulfed by flames.
When crews entered the home, they found a body in the back bedroom.
"First crews arrived on the scene, and the house was 75 percent involved with fire, they located a deceased person in the back bedroom. For right now, we don't know who that person is ... pending the autopsy report and identification through the medical examiner," said Chevrette.
It took firefighters about two hours to bring the fire under control. No one else was in the home. The cause of the fire remains under investigation
No word yet on the cause of the fire.
