'Who's Who In Black Detroit' Book Unveiled

DETROIT (WWJ) - Wednesday marks the unveiling of the Fifth Anniversary Edition of "Who's Who in Black Detroit," a publication that shines the spotlight on the achievements of African-Americans in the Detroit area.

Cathy Nedd, Associate Publisher of Who's Who, spoke with WWJ about this year's edition.

"We're doing a special tribute to black philanthropy. These are individuals who have reached into their own pockets to give back to the city, as well as people within organizations who make sure that initiatives and programs in the city are funded," Nedd said.

The unveiling takes place Wednesday evening at 6:00, at the Motor City Casino Conference Center.

"It's going to be a wonderful publication, a great publication of role models for our youth, our students, so I encourage everybody to check out the website and get one or join us at the celebration."

Tickets cost $75, which also includes a copy of Who's Who Fifth Edition. Click here to preview the book.
