Metro Beach Closed Due To E. Coli
HARRISON TWP. (WWJ) - A couple of Macomb County beaches will be off-limits to swimmers this weekend.
Officials have closed Metro Beach to public swimming because of high levels of E. coli bacteria. The "No Swimming" signs also remain up at Blossom Heath Beach because bacteria levels are too high.
E. coli gets into the water from improper waste connections to storm sewers, sewer overflows and storm runoff.
