Traffic Alert: Weekend Road Work

DETROIT (WWJ) - Due to the number of high-profile events this weekend, like the Woodward Dream Cruise and Selfridge Air Show, additional weekend construction work will be kept to a minimum.

The following activities are scheduled. As always, some of this work may be postponed due to adverse weather.

I-696:
In Oakland County, due to the Woodward Dream Cruise, the following ramps on I-696 will be closed:

Beginning at 9 p.m. Friday until 1 a.m. Saturday, westbound I-696 exit ramps to Bermuda, Woodward and Coolidge will close, along with the eastbound I-696 ramps to Coolidge, Woodward and Campbell-Hilton. Those ramps are scheduled to close again from 9 p.m. Saturday until midnight Sunday.

I-94:
In Wayne County, eastbound I-94 will have the right and center lanes closed from Moross to 8 Mile from 8 p.m. tonight until 5 a.m. Friday for resurfacing.

In Wayne County, eastbound and westbound I-94 will have the right lane closed at Belleville Road from 9 p.m. tonight until 5 a.m. Friday for ongoing bridge work.

In Macomb County, westbound I-94 will have two lanes closed from 11 Mile to 12 Mile roads nightly from 9 p.m. - 5 a.m. starting Monday, Aug 22 and ending Friday, Aug 26 for bridge work.

M-5:
In Oakland County, eastbound and westbound M-5 will have multiple lane closures between 8 Mile Road and Purdue Avenue from 5 a.m. Saturday until 7 p.m. Sunday for ongoing road work.

M-39 (Southfield Freeway):
In Detroit, northbound M-39 will be closed at I-96, while the ramp from Grand River Ave to southbound M-39 will be closed from 9 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday for bridge work at Fullerton Ave.

In Wayne and Oakland Counties, M-39 will remain closed between the Lodge Freeway and I-96 until late October.

M-59 (Hall Road):
In Oakland County, eastbound M-59 is reduced to a single lane from Opdyke to Crooks roads from 5 a.m. Saturday until 5 p.m. Sunday for ongoing construction. In addition, the ramp from eastbound M-59 to northbound I-75 will be closed from 5 a.m. - 5 p.m. Sunday.

In Macomb County, westbound M-59 will have two lanes closed from Hayes to Van Dyke from  p.m. Saturday until 5 a.m. Tuesday for pavement repair.

M-97 (Groesbeck Highway):
In Macomb County, southbound M-97 will have tow lanes closed from 10 Mile to 8 Mile roads from 6 a.m. -  5 p.m. Saturday for maintenance.

M-153 (Ford Road):
In Wayne County, eastbound and westbound M-153 will be reduced to a single lane between Henry Ruff and Inkster roads from 4 a.m. - 6 p.m. Saturday for pavement repair.
