Warren Mayor Fouts Helps Hand Out Free Backpacks, Supplies

WARREN (WWJ) - The City of Warren is partnering with Operation: Kid Equip for the third year to distribute backpacks, books and school supplies to needy families in the area.

The first 1,000 children to arrive at City Hall on Saturday, August 20 between 11 am - 2 pm will receive a free backpack courtesy of Operation: Kid Equip. Books will also be available to children of all ages and reading levels.

To qualify for this event you must prove need and your children must be present.Parents must bring a copy of a free/reduced lunch letter for this year or last year, Bridge Cards, MI Child Cards or anything that verifies low-income.

There will not be a pre-registration process, as supplies are limited to a first-come, first-served basis.
