Automation Alley, CAR Set Trade Mission To South Korea

TROY -- Are you ready to take your company to the next level by stepping into the global marketplace? Are you interested in exploring opportunities to market your products and services in Asia? Join Automation Alley, Michigan's largest technology business association, on a unique trade mission to South Korea, Nov. 14-18.

This mission is presented in partnership with the Center for Automotive Research, the United States Department of Commerce Automotive Team, and th e organizers of the KOAASHOW 2011 (Korea Auto Parts & Auto-related Industries Show).

This mission is designed for companies interested in marketing products and services to automotive sector companies in South Korea. Suppliers of automotive parts and services, production equipment and technology, as well as community and economic development representatives, are encouraged to participate.

Benefits of participating in the trade mission to South Korea include:

* Counseling by CAR and U.S. Department of Commerce
* U.S. Embassy briefing on the commercial, economic and political environment in South Korea
* Participation in/opportunity to present at an automotive importers roundtable
* Business briefing at Hyundai/Kia headquarters in Seoul
* Factory briefing, tour and presentations at Hyundai Ulsan plant
* Factory briefing, tour and presentation at GM Daewoo Bupyeong plant
* Factory briefing, tour and presentation at KIA Hwasung plant
* Factory briefing, tour and presentation at SSangYong Motor Co plant
* Ribbon cutting ceremony at KOAA and luncheon with Governor Kim Moon Soo
* Exhibit in the American Business Center at KOAA
* Support of staff at American Business Center during mission
* Matchmaking meetings with pre-screened companies selected for each participant
* Mission participants and U.S. Embassy will jointly host a technical seminar at KOAA
* High-level business networking reception at residence of U.S. Ambassador to Korea
* Assistance with follow-up provided by CAR and U.S. Department of Commerce

"South Korea now ranks as the world's fifth largest automobile producer," said Automation Alley international business services director Noel Nevshehir. "Its rapidly growing auto parts market, together with our nation's pending free trade agreement with Seoul, will provide trade mission participants an ideal opportunity to expand or grow their business. In addition to attending Korea's largest automotive exhibition, participating companies will also tour Hyundai, Kia, SSang Yong, and GM Daewoo and will learn firsthand what the procurement needs are for these companies."

The cost to participate is $4,700 per qualifying company. This amount is nonrefundable and excludes travel costs. Registration closes Oct. 1. Early registration is encouraged as space is limited.
