DETROIT (WWJ) – Are high gas prices keeping you close to home this holiday weekend?
Right now … you’re going to pay almost a dollar per gallon more this year than last year this time.

Speaking live on WWJ — Triple-A Michigan spokesperson Nancy Cain says according to their surveys, a hike at the pump is NOT keeping Michiganders from hitting the roads…

“People on our survey said that despite the higher gas prices – they were going. We found that our state park grounds were like 90 percent booked, a few are at capacity,
resort areas around the state told us they were gearing up for a good holiday weekend,” said Cain.

Cain says about 1.2 million people are expected to hit the roads this weekend.

High gas prices are 1) keeping me home this year, 2) forcing me to pay higher food prices, 3) keeping lots of us unemployed, 4) making CEO executives at Exxon-Mobile very, very wealthy, 5) bringing down America’s GNP, 6) cause of Middle L’East wars.

We need more American engineers to find better resources and means for alternative energy to get our consumption habits out of the pockets of aggressor capitalists who have a solid monopoly in gas and oil

Articles about what where gas prices are going and theories are great but doing something to help the consumer save a buck is a whole other story. Who the hell knows what gas prices will be the next time we go to the pump. All I know is that I am tired of paying huge gas prices. Here is a tip about a new type of Auto Club. I use their membership gas card by sticking it into gas pump and it gives me 10% right back to my account for the gas purchase and I guess some other benefits too. It is really no hassle. With money we save, we enjoy more trips, movies and family fun stuff. It might be worth it for you to check it out. , the more that are doing this the more they can discount – its kinda like Cosco or Sam’s Club in that way. The more you know, the more you save! Ask.
