Gas Almost A Dollar More Than This Time Last Year

DETROIT (WWJ) - Are high gas prices keeping you close to home this holiday weekend?
Right now ... you're going to pay almost a dollar per gallon more this year than last year this time.

Speaking live on WWJ -- Triple-A Michigan spokesperson Nancy Cain says according to their surveys, a hike at the pump is NOT keeping Michiganders from hitting the roads...

"People on our survey said that despite the higher gas prices - they were going. We found that our state park grounds were like 90 percent booked, a few are at capacity,
resort areas around the state told us they were gearing up for a good holiday weekend," said Cain.

Cain says about 1.2 million people are expected to hit the roads this weekend.
