WWJ, GLITR, HiredMYway Event To Put Detroit Back To Work

Igniting Innovation in Michigan: Putting Detroit Back To Work is a dynamic daylong conference scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 14 at the Suburban Collection Showplace, Novi

Tickets start at $15 per person.

The day begins with registration and continental breakfast at 7:30 a.m., a salute to the Great Lakes Innovation and Technology Report, its 10th anniversary and the 10th annual GLITR Awards at 8:30 a.m., and a keynote speech from Richard Sheridan, founder and CEO of Menlo Innovations in Ann Arbor, at 9 a.m.

Sheridan went from the unemployment line to a profile in Businessweek and Forbes. He leads a software development team that has made the Inc. list of America's fastest growing privately held firms four years running. In one big room, with no offices or cubes, the Menlo team has produced software for everything from diesel motor diagnostics to health care and scientific equipment.

After a networking break, the event continues at 10 a.m. with the 60-Second Showdown. The showdown gives you a chance to pitch your invention, product, business or innovative idea before a group of judges and venture capitalists to win financial support for their future endeavors. Tickets for $40 per person include breakfast, the Richard Sheridan keynote address, the 60-Second Showdown audience ticket, the Josh Linkner keynote address and lunch.
