Quicken, Blue Cross In Business Partnership

Quicken Loans Inc. announced Tuesday that effective Jan. 1, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Michigan will become the sole medical insurance carrier for Quicken Loans' 4,000 employees.

Both Quicken Loans and BCBSM have shown their commitment to Detroit to help revitalize downtown, and both companies are part of the recently launched "Live Downtown" initiative offering their team members incentives to buy or rent housing in downtown Detroit.

"Detroit is an amazing city, with access to many of the best companies this region has to offer," said Quicken Loans CEO Bill Emerson. "It feels great to be able to help support a fellow Detroit-based business, while also offering our team members access to world-class health care. We hope other Detroit businesses follow our lead by partnering with their neighbors whenever possible."

As a result of the new relationship, Quicken Loans will also provide discounted mortgage pricing and a dedicated educational resource for BCBSM's 7,000 team members who may need a home loan.

"This is an example of two Detroit companies doing business together in a way that supports the Detroit and Michigan economy and the local community," said Daniel Loepp, Blues president and CEO. "We're excited about delivering the very best health care coverage to Quicken Loans employees. Likewise, the new relationship gives us a wonderful opportunity to introduce Quicken Loans and its innovative home financing services to our own employees."
