WCCCD Hosts E-Cycling Event

DETROIT (WWJ) - Wayne County Community College District is hosting a free recycling event for used electronics in Detroit on Saturday at the school's Northwest Campus.

Vintage Tech Recyclers staff members and community volunteers will be on site from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. to unload electronics from vehicles.

  • Laptops
  • Monitors
  • LCD's
  • Cell Phones
  • Printers
  • Scanners
  • Modems
  • CD drives
  • Cables
  • Keyboards
  • Mice
  • TV's
  • VCR's
  • DVD players
  • Camcorders
  • Cameras
  • Game Players and joysticks
  • Telephones
  • Pagers
  • Answering Machines
  • Typewriters
  • Calculators
  • Fax machines
  • Copiers

Vintage Tech Recycler, an Illinois-based company, will spearhead the collection. In addition to recycling old electronic equipment, Vintage Tech guarantees that all hard drives will be wiped and destroyed using compliant data wiping methods.

The e-cycling event is from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 17 at WCCCD's Northwest Campus, located at 8200 West Outer Drive in Detroit. (Click for map)
