Woman Takes Out Full Page Ad In Search Of Love

NOVI (WWJ) - How far would you go to find love?

An Oakland County woman has her answer.

She has taken out a full-page personal ad in the Novi News and three other suburban newspapers. Susan, who is 52 and never married, said she decided to try something different.

"Well, I've tried a couple of computer dating sites and they just didn't work out and I wanted to try something different and unique just to see if I could find someone that I could spend the rest of my life with," she said.

Susan, who didn't want to give her last name, works full-time and hasn't been in a relationship for a few years.  She said well-meaning friends have tried setting her up on blind dates, but nothing has worked out.

Awhile back she did try taking out an ad in a magazine, but didn't get the replies she was looking for.

"Actually, I only received replies from prisoners. I was really disappointed," Susan said.

She said it's tougher to find someone as you get older.

"I do think it's harder when women and men are older. Everyone's rather set in their ways and know what they want, but I guess that's what compromise is for," she said.

Susan told WWJ Newsradio 950's Beth Fisher that her ad has been getting some responses. "A couple men and a couple ladies that basically said, good luck and go for it," she said.

Susan is looking for a nice guy her age who's fun to be with. She says she likes to travel and have fun, too. And if this doesn't work? She says she won't give up.
