Tigers To Recognize Detroit Dog Rescue At Comerica Park

DETROIT – Detroit Dog Rescue (DDR) will be recognized by the Detroit Tigers for their outstanding work and dedication to the mission of rescuing homeless and stray dogs in the city of Detroit with a special on-field presentation Tuesday, Sept. 27, before the game against the Cleveland Indians.

Pregame recognition activities will include a special announcement introducing Tigers' fans to Detroit Dog Rescue's mission and work, followed by an on-field tribute to DDR co-founders Dan "Hush" Carlisle and Monica Martino.

"This is a real honor to be recognized by the Detroit Tigers organization and in front of their fans at Comerica Park," said Dan "Hush" Carlisle, co-founder and president of Detroit Dog Rescue.

"Since founding Detroit Dog Rescue, Monica and I have participated in a whirl-wind of activity from establishing the organization, training our staff and getting into the community to help homeless and stray dogs in Detroit.  There are more than 50,000 homeless or stray dogs in our community and DDR works daily to reduce that number by finding quality foster care, adoption and no-kill shelter options for these animals.  Being recognized by the Detroit Tigers – a class act organization with a long standing tradition for giving back to the community - is a grand slam for validating our work," Carlisle added.

Detroit Dog Rescue is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization whose mission is to humanely rescue the more than 50,000 homeless dogs living in Detroit and establishment of the areas' first no-kill shelter for dogs without a home.
