MACOMB (WWJ)– By day he’s a known as a tough and sometimes controversial prosecutor in Macomb County…but come this Friday night…we’ll see the softer side of Eric Smith.

“There is no dancing history in this prosecutor, I can tell you that, you know, it’s football and basketball,” said Smith.
The lunchtime sessions will end on Friday as the dancing partners compete in the finale for Dancing With the Local Stars, before a thousand people in Troy.

But after two months of practice Smith says that he is … “in it to win it.”
“I think our routine … is pretty good, I’ve looked at the competition and none of them scare me,” laughed Smith.
The Tri-County Business Exchange is hosting “Dancing with our Local Stars,” to benefit the American Diabetes Association, Friday, Sept. 30, at the San Marino Club in Troy.
