Unruly Passenger On Detroit-Bound Plane Charged
ROMULUS (WWJ/AP) - An arrest warrant has been issued for a Utah man who allegedly created a disturbance on an international flight bound for Metro Airport this week.
The U.S. Attorney's Office in Detroit plans to charge 31 year-old Jared Hansen of Salt Lake City.
Passengers aboard the Amsterdam-to-Detroit Delta Air Lines flight Tuesday said the man stood up and started yelling something about a hijacking, and also began kicking at one of the exit doors.
A Delta spokeswoman said the man was quickly restrained. Federal authorities detained the man for questioning after the plane landed at Metro, and released him.
Charges could include assaulting or intimidating a flight crew.
The incident occurred the day jury selection began in the trial of a Nigerian man accused of trying to bring down an Amsterdam-to-Detroit flight with a bomb in his underwear.
