As temperatures drop, there’s no better way to stay warm and look cool than with a stylish hat. A well-made hat is a great way to jazz up an outfit and knock off the chill. There are a few things to consider when choosing the perfect hat.

The shape of your face can determine which style works best for you. A hat should frame and compliment the shape of the face. For instance, someone with a round face would look great with any hat that has a brim.

Try slanting the hat to add more attitude to the look. The idea is to pick a hat that’s not too big so that the roundness of the face is accented and not overshadowed by the hat.

A person with a long, oval-shaped face would look best in a large hat or a hat with accents (feathers, flowers, bows, and etc.). A bigger or fuller hat adds more shape and framing to an oval face. For example, a wool-felt hat with a floppy brim would accent an oval-shaped face perfectly.

The size and fit of a hat is also very important to keep in mind. A hat that’s too big or too small could take away from the look. It’s important to try different sizes and styles until you find the hat that fits just right.
