Car Hits Man In Canton Township

Southfield (WWJ)- A Walled Lake man was in critical condition late Thursday night after he was hit by a car in Canton Township.

Police say the accident happened around 6:30 p.m. on eastbound Ford Road east of Haggerty. 

The 53-year old victim was taken to a local hospital with unspecified injuries, according to police. 

There's no word of if the driver of the car stopped.  An accident investigation team is conducting an investigation. 

Ford Road was closed for more than four hours.  It re-opened around 10:30 p.m.
