Man Found Dead In Burning Car Was Ex-Con
ZILWAUKEE TWP. (AP) - Authorities say a charred body found in the back seat of his mother's burning car on the banks of the Saginaw River belonged to a 27-year-old ex-con, and they've arrested three suspects in the killing.
The body was discovered Monday in Saginaw County's Zilwaukee Township, about 10 miles north-northeast of Saginaw.
The Saginaw News says the victim was Lonnie L. Houston of Bay City, who served prison terms for assault and for marijuana possession. Houston's teeth were matched with dental records to make a positive identification.
Authorities say Houston was killed in Bay County's Hampton Township but aren't releasing other details. The case is now in the hands of Bay County prosecutors.
The suspects, two 20-year-olds and a 21-year-old, are expected to be arraigned Thursday.
