Police Raid Meth Lab In Jackson County
SUMMIT TWP. (WWJ) - Police have arrested a 49-year-old Jackson man after they found a meth lab at his home.
Deputies from the Jackson County Office of the Sheriff raided the Summit Township home around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday after receiving tips of a possible Methamphetamine lab at the residence.
Coordination with Jackson Narcotics Enforcement Team (JNET) was initiated and a search of the home yielded an active lab containing numerous chemicals and manufacturing components used in the production of Methamphetamine.
The lab was neutralized and rendered safe by JNET personnel and a hazardous materials handling company. The components of the lab were removed from the area and taken to a Hazmat disposal site.
The homeowner, whose name was not immediately released, was taken into custody and lodged at the Jackson County Jail on charges of maintaining and operating a Methamphetamine lab.
