Mom Accused Of Involuntary Manslaughter After Failing To Get Baby Medical Help
ROGERS CITY (AP) - Authorities in northern Michigan have charged a woman in the death of her baby, saying she failed to get adequate medical care for the newborn.
Presque Isle County officials obtained a warrant for Karrie Mulka. She's from Rogers City in the northern Lower Peninsula.
Mulka was arrested Tuesday on a charge of involuntary manslaughter on accusations she neglected the treatment of her newborn baby in June.
The charge carries a penalty of up to 15 years.
