Serious Flooding Hits Ahead Of Snow

DETROIT (WWJ) - A Flood Watch is in effect for the Metro Detroit area through Tuesday evening. AccuWeather Meteorologist Dean Devore said it will be rainy on Tuesday -- heavy at times -- breezy and chilly.

"I should've taken one at home this morning," said Eva on CBSDetroit's Facebook page. "...it looks like Lake St. Clair moved into my backyard ... Most of the streets in my area are flooded and people are still driving like idiots ... surprised there have been no serious accidents."

Following the wet weather, forecasters say some serious snow is coming.

It'll be windy and cold Tuesday, with rain mixing with and changing to wet snow before Wednesday morning. Total snow accumulation is expected to be 1-3 inches in and around most of Metro Detroit; 3-6 inches in the outlying northern and western suburbs. A low of 33 is expected.

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until 7 a.m. Wednesday.

Tuesday Night - Breezy. Cloudy with rain and snow. Accumulations around 1 inch. Lows 32 to 36. Northwest winds 15 to 25 mph. Gusts to 30 mph after midnight. Chance of precipitation 90 percent.

Wednesday - Partly sunny. Highs 39 to 43. Northwest winds 10 to 20 mph. Gusts to 30 mph in the morning.

Wednesday Night - Mostly clear. Lows 23 to 27. West winds 5 to 15 mph...becoming light and variable after midnight.

Thursday - Mostly sunny. Highs 38 to 42. South winds 5 to 15 mph.

Thursday Night - Partly cloudy with a slight chance of light snow showers. Lows 27 to 31. Chance of snow 20 percent.

Friday - Partly sunny with a chance of snow showers. Highs 34 to 38.  Lows 21 to 25. Chance of snow 30 percent.

Saturday - Partly sunny. Highs 35 to 39.  Partly cloudy with a slight chance of snow showers overnight. Lows 28 to 32.

Sunday - Cloudy with a chance of rain and snow. Highs 37 to 41. A 30 percent chance of snow showers at night. Lows 29 to 33.
