Michael Moore Tells OU That President 'Has To Be Obama That People Elected'

ROCHESTER (WWJ) - On tour to promote his new book, Flint native fimmaker and author Michael Moore made a stop Wednesday in Metro Detroit.

Speaking to students at Oakland University, the liberal Moore spoke about President Barack Obama -- why people voted for him and what he needs to do to get reelected.

"What Mr. Obama needs to understand is that to get people excited about next year he has to be the Obama that people elected," said Moore.

Moore blamed President Bush and the Republicans for the nation's economic problems.

"He [Obama] held out  his hand to the Repoublicans. He held out an olive branch and said I wanna work with you," said Moore. "I thought, wow, he's a better man than I am ... after what they just did to this country, after invading these countries, throwing us into horrible debt, bringing about this crash."

Moore also talked about student debt and what's been happening on Wall Street.

According to Amazon.com, in his book, "Here Comes Trouble: Stories from My Life," Moore "presents twenty-four far-ranging, irreverent, and stranger-than-fiction vignettes from his own early life." (More about the book at this link).
