Explore The NEW 7 Wonders Of The World

Pack your bags for a geographical discussion about the new Seven Wonders of the World. In recent years, more than 100 million people voted to choose new wonders because most of the original 7 no longer exist.

On the list: India's Taj Mahal, an elaborate tomb built in 1648 by the emperor for his wife. A second wonder is the rock city carved into the cliffs of Petra, Southwest Jordan. It was home to 30,000 people around 200 B.C.

Another city made the list: It's Machu Picchu in Peru where the Incas lived almost 8,000 feet up in the Andes Mountains. Also in South America is Christ the Redeemer Statue. It sits atop the Corcovado Mountain in Brazil. It's taller than a 12-story building.

A 5th wonder is The Colosseum in Italy where wild animals and Roman prisoners fought to the death. Chichen Itza, Mexico, the former Mayan capital and its famous pyramid, and the Great Wall of China, an estimated 4,500-mile wall extending across China, round out the list.
