LIVONIA (WWJ) – How would you like to be the UPS delivery person Thursday? Wayne Meeks, UPS President for the Great Lakes region, said it’s their busiest delivery day of the year.
“Today we plan on delivering 26 million packages and tomorrow will be our peak day as far as our premium packages, which will be six million packages,” Meeks said.READ MORE: Michigan Matters: Helping Young Folks & Cancer Patients
Here in Michigan, Meeks said the deliveries will number just about 700,000 packages, and his team is up for it.

The drivers aren’t only mentally prepared for the day, they’re physically prepared.
“We look at them as industrial athletes. Our drivers are actually in pretty decent shape. Meeks said the only person who can claim more on time deliveries this time of year is the man with the red suit, Santa.
