Fithian Fab Five For The Christmas Weekend

Detroit -3 San Diego -- Great opportunity to really feel good about the Detroit Lions if they can get this win verses the Chargers. Last week's thriller against Oakland and now Christmas Eve with a chance to bolt into the post season for the first time in 12 years is a wonderful stage. Last week as the Bears, Packers and Giants were all getting beat I felt like the Lions wouldn't capitalize on this kind of chance – they never seem to in the past.

So, if it is different this year for Detroit, then find away to get to Philip Rivers. Hard to believe that the Ravens were not able to sack the San Diego quarterback last week. Lions at home with their d-line is built for this game.

A real celebration with a win then a pseudo bye week next week and then the playoffs.

Seems too good to be true for the Detroit Lions but things have been different this year.

Prediction: Lions 27 Chargers 17

Denver -3 at Buffalo --Broncos can play defense and the team believes in what they are doing behind Tim Tebow.

Prediction: Broncos 24 Bills 17

Giants +3 v Jets -- I'll take the points with two teams that are tough to gauge.

Prediction Giants 23 Jets 21

Carolina -71/2 at Tampa Bay -- Tempting to take the points in this game after watching the Panthers get out to huge leads only to watch opponents come back and beat them this year. The Bucs have mailed it in losing their last eight including getting blown out by out the last time these two teams met. Same deal this time around. Cam Newton and the Panthers run wild.

Prediction Panthers 41 Bucs 31

Philly +1 at Dallas – LeSean McCoy does at times look like he has moves like Barry.

I'm ready to write a song. Cowboys are the bigger frauds.

Prediction Eagles 35 Cowboys 28
