Man, Woman Burned During Domestic Assault

Southfield (WWJ)- A Pontiac man and his wife are receiving treatments for severe burns following a domestic assault.

Oakland County Sheriff deputies sent to a home in the 200 block of Judson Street Friday evening for a domestic assault in progress found both the 39-year old man and his 37-year old wife suffering from burns over 25-percent of their bodies.

A preliminary investigation shows both were burned when hot grease spilled as they fought in the kitchen.

The man was first taken to POH Medical Center and then transferred to the Hurley Burn Center in Flint.  The woman was taken to Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak and then taken to Detroit Receiving Hospital's Burn Unit.  Both are expected to be hospitalized for an extended period of time, according to the sheriff's department.

Detectives will be presenting their case to the Oakland County Prosecutor's office for charges against the husband.

No names have been released.
