Ficano Wishes Former Deputy Would Take More Responsibility For His Actions

DETROIT (WWJ) - Wayne County Executive Robert Ficano offering a prediction Monday in a lawsuit filed against him by his former deputy.

After speaking during a King holiday rally at Romulus High School, Ficano was asked about the pending lawsuit.

Ficano said he believes he will be successful in the $25-million suit filed by Azzam Elder, adding that he wished Elder "would take more responsibility for his actions".

Elder was suspended and later resigned from office last November following the severance package controversy surrounding former Metro Airport CEO Turkia Mullin.  In his suit, Elder claims Ficano has covered up several other severance deals with county employees following the Mullin controversy.
