C Jason Maxiell continues to play steady minutes off the bench because F Charlie Villanueva is sidelined with an ankle injury. Maxiell has played the kind of physical defense coach Lawrence Frank is looking for but he's hurting the team at the other end. His performance against Minnesota Wednesday was another example of that, as Maxiell made four turnovers, matching his point total in 23 minutes. Like many opponents, the Timberwolves fouled him on dunk and lay-up attempts because he's a poor free throw shooter and he made just 2 of 6, including an air-ball.
