The Motown Winter Blast debuted in January 2005. It attracts thousands of visitors to downtown Detroit every year. The first-time event drew more than 200,000 people to the area and featured fun events for the entire family. This year's event is scheduled for February 10-12, 2012. It will feature more than 50 live musical acts , free ice skating and snowshoeing, marshmallow roasting and the Greektown Casino Ice Garden, as well as other attractions.

This year, the Capitol City celebrates its third annual Frost Fest, which takes place in downtown Lansing on Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012. Events include live music and what organizers describe as "frosty entertainment" in a heated tent. That's sure to include the "Cold Butt" Euchre Tournament, which is scheduled for 6:30pm that evening. The Frost Fest itself runs from 6pm until midnight, however, the Tin Can will take over afterwards.
