"Best Foot Forward" For Comcast Job Fair In Detroit On Saturday

DETROIT (WWJ) - If you need a job, listen up!  Comcast is holding a job fair at Hartford Memorial Baptist Church Saturday morning.

Starting at 10 a.m. applicants can speak to the hiring team that's looking to bring 100 applicants on.

Spokeswoman Laydell Harper says be sure to put your best foot forward if you stop by the job fair.

I suggest that they come dressed for success. I believe that they are going to be looking at people and identifying those people at the  job fair that they will call back and (have) come in for a formal interview. And yes, bring your resume but if you don't have a resume, still come," said  Harper.

Harper tells WWJ that Comcast is looking for people with good computer skills and people who are problem solvers.

"They are looking people that have some internet capabilities, are able to use the internet, able to speak clearly on the phone with some sales experience," said Harper.

"The people will be doing ... trouble shooting for customers that call in that have problems with their Comcast system," said Harper.

"We think that a lot of people that can't get to the job fairs in the suburbs can and will come to this job fair, said Harper. "The church is located near transportation and that seems to be a big problem for people that live in the city, so that's why we were anxious to have  it in the city, because it is near bus transportation."
