Baby Shot And Killed In Detroit

DETROIT (WWJ) - A shooting takes the life of a 9-month-old child on Detroit's west side.

Detroit Police tell WWJ that a baby, Delric Miller, was shot early Monday morning. And now homicide investigators have confirmed that the baby boy has died at a local hospital.

It happened in a neighborhood on Greenview Street near the Southfield Freeway and Tireman where police say there was a walk-by shooting on the home.

Police say it appears that someone with what's believed to have been a semi-automatic rifle opened fire on the home with more than a dozen shots, and even walked up the driveway and shot at the side of the house before fleeing.

Several markers in the front lawn, street and sidewalk of the house show where the bullet casings landed.
