Practice Grenade Launcher Round Found Along Road

PORT HURON TWP. (AP) - Authorities say a Port Huron-area man called police after finding what he thought might be a live round from a grenade launcher on the side of a road.

The Times Herald of Port Huron reports a Michigan State Police bomb squad responded. Authorities determined it was an inert practice round.

The man from St. Clair County's Port Huron Township called police Monday after finding the round Sunday in nearby Kimball Township. He brought the round back to his house and placed it outside but later became concerned it might be dangerous.

It was unclear where the practice round came from, but authorities say it might have been a war souvenir.
