Major Road Projects Begin Monday Morning

DETROIT (WWJ) - A big road project gets underway Monday morning, and you'll need to know how to get around it.

M-DOT starts work this Monday on the I-94 - Southfield Freeway interchange.

The project includes repairing 12 bridges within the interchange, along with ramp and pavement repairs on I-94 between Pelham Road and M-39 until mid-November.

The following ramps will be closed beginning 4 a.m. Monday until early April:

- Southbound M-39 to eastbound and westbound I-94, and
- Eastbound Van Born Road to southbound M-39.

The following ramps will be closed beginning 4 a.m. Monday until May:
- Westbound I-94 to southbound M-39, and
- Westbound I-94 to Pelham Road.

In addition, the eastbound I-94 ramp to northbound M-39 and the northbound M-39 ramp to Van Born Road will be closed overnights from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning. Overnight double-lane closures on northbound M-39 from Allen Road to Outer Drive will occur until early April.
