Coyotes Sign Chris Brown To Entry-Level Contract

GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) — The Phoenix Coyotes have signed former Michigan Wolverines forward Chris Brown to a three-year entry level contract.

The signing was announced Thursday by Coyotes general manager Don Maloney, who declined to release financial details.

The 21-year-old Brown was a second-round draft pick of Phoenix in 2009.

He had 12 goals, 17 assists and 66 penalty minutes in 38 games with Michigan this season. In his three-year collegiate career, he had 34 goals, 46 assists and 183 penalty minutes in 125 games.

Brown helped lead Team USA to the gold medal in the 2009 IIHF Under-18 World Championship and also won a bronze medal with Team USA at the 2011 IIHF World Junior Championship.
