Safety Track System Recovers Stolen Truck: $100,000 Saved

BELLEVILLE -- Des Moines, Iowa-based Ruan Transport Corp. recovered a stolen truck and assets totalling $100,000 in value using the GPS Fleet Tracking System from Belleville-based Safety Track.

A ring of thieves swiped the truck Saturday night, March 31, from an LKQ Corp. location in Linthicum, Md. Ruan Transport received an unauthorized vehicle notification and was able to track the vehicle to a scrap yard 14 miles away in Glen Burnie, Md. The police were notified and the truck was recovered successfully, avoiding any interruptions in Ruan Transport's work week.

"I am a firm believer in the product Safety Track has, it saved Ruan $100,000 last night," says Chad W. Humphrey, Director of Operations for Ruan Transport Corp.

Safety Track of Michigan is a woman-owned business that was established in 2002 to help businesses maintain control of fleet vehicles through the use of GPS Tracking technology and In Vehicle Car Cameras.
